Cost Accountant - Construction - Calverton, NY

Island Exterior Fabricators, LLC is a multi-functional company at the intersection of architecture, engineering, fabrication and construction. Our firm is focused on developing solutions for architects with unique requirements for building envelopes, be it exceptional performance, geometric complexity, innovative materials, aggressive scheduling, or cost. This is achieved through working with architects and contractors to develop custom solutions that utilize Island’s large-scale panelized, prefabricated products. All of Island’s façade solutions are designed, engineered, fabricated in-house and onsite. Island continues to work specifically on the most challenging of projects. We have worked on the design and delivery of some of the northeast region’s most iconic buildings, for the world’s most notable architects, including Neil Denari, TEN Arquitectos, Grimshaw, Morphosis, and SHoP Architects.

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our growing Accounting Department.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Work in Process Schedule tie out to general ledger, maintenance and for financial reporting (prior WIP experience required).

  • OCIP/CCIP insurance enrollments for projects.

  • Develops enhanced project management financial reports to assist project management, including burn rates, provision of regularly updated cash flow forecasts for projects, and development of methods to report financial program metrics.

  • Assists CFO and Controller in projects and reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail required. High degree of initiative and flexibility required to successfully accommodate deadlines.

  • Project Cash flow forecasts.

  • Understanding of general ledger and financial reporting.

  • Budget to Actual tracking on receivables and expenses.

  • Insurance tracking and analysis.

  • Preparation of insurance workpapers and package for audits.

  • Monthly profitability reporting.

  • Supporting excel schedules.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have Excel skills along with comprehensive experience in Microsoft Office

  • Timberline experience preferred

  • Ability to maintain data integrity and accuracy and use data to identify and solve problems

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks within a defined time period

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
